  The Islamic Research and Information Center, in collaboration with scholars, professors and experts in the area of Islam and the West, enhances studies on Islam and Muslims through contemporary social, cultural and religious contexts within the Western societies.

  Furthermore, our scholars perform academic research on issues of Islamic thought & teachings to promote the true image of Islam in the Western world. Such research includes Qur’an and Hadith studies, history of Islam, life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and His Progeny (a.s.), Islam and modernity, Islam and violence, Islam and women's Issues, Islam and human rights, lifestyle in Islam, etc.

  In order to provide an opportunity to enhance, deepen and enrich understanding of Islamic issues and illustrate a true image of Islam for English-speaking people, IRIC has produced several video programs on the subjects of the principles of Islam, Islamic culture and history, as well as introducing Islam to the western world. Several TV talk shows, discussion and debate programs and documentaries on different religious issues have been created and broadcast over the satellite channels.

  Another area of activity at IRIC is collaboration with TV channels to better educate the public about Islam and to provide positive portrayal of Muslims in the media.

  IRIC has organized and held monthly conferences in order to spread information pertaining to contemporary Islamic and global issues for foreigners residing in the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as for the students and families studying abroad, academic and research centers and English language media outlets. With over 7 years of experience, it has been one of the most successful activities of IRIC in order to represent the true face of Islamic teachings & viewpoints to scholars, intellectuals, students and other interested participants in English language.

  IRIC has also held some seasonal symposiums, research seminars and conferences through creating a forum for discussing topics of contemporary relevance, and inviting renowned scholars and researchers.

In Islam, religion is a complete way of life, not just a spiritual yearning. When a person believes that God has created the world and has sent guidance to human beings, he would want to follow His guidance.  Islam provides an entire spiritual and social structure that regulates believers in every aspect of their lives: whom they marry, how they conduct business relations, what they say when praying, how they relate to their neighbors, and so on. "Islamic lifestyle" is a 26-part series which focuses on Islamic teachings to make a better life. The series consists of 3 chapters of ”Ethics in Man”, ”Ethics in Family” and ”Ethics in Society”.   Ethics in society is the third chapter of "Islamic lifestyle" series, which deals with codes of conduct in social life from Islamic point of view.  This chapter consists of 8 parts, and is presented by Dr. Hamid Rahimian, university lecturur and Islamic studies. It is appropriated to the following issues:  bidding the right and forbidding the wrong, rights of neighbors, rights of friends and companions, maintaining blood ties, the students` duties toward teachers, rights of others, and business ethics.  The 8th part of the present series, deals with medical ethics and is presented by Dr. Zoha Ghavidel, M.D. Islamic studies scholar.
